Day Two, 730AM

I did a little early morning exploring while John T. did some business with Saudis, Japanese and Koreans. Walked about 10 blocks and really enjoyed revisiting some of the simple memories from my last trip to Europe:
  • Merchants cleaning the streets out in front of their shops, and washing the glass entry-ways, so that they could start their day selling their wares.
  • Scores of people out in the street at 730AM, walking to work, school, etc.
  • A great many scooters here, undoubtedly more now that gasoline is at $147/liter (5.58 gallon)
I can see the ocean from here, and small fishing vessels coming in and our of the harbor, preparing to do business with the local restaurants.

We meet the cyclists at 1PM for our first warmup ride.

More later!
